Three early perspectives on Organization and communication
The early perspectives on organization and communication are defined as classical management, human relations and human resources. These three theories have not been written with a communication focus, although do play a role in communication. So I came across the foundational work in human relations and how it led to three different lines of research that merit our consideration (chapter 3, page 75). The first was how the effects of leadership style on worker productivity, second were identifying the limitations of decisions making in an organization and finally the focus between senior mangers and organizational environment (pg 76). Within an organization these points are very important, it keeps the communication open between employs and subordinates. The second I came across the leadership style, I already know that this pertain to me. So in the chapter their relating poor performance to poor management, we wonder where the downfall of job productivity went. Our economy team that we have for the United States is a clear example of reflection, our taxes were being raised, and people were being laid off left and right. Now that is our new president job to recognize those flaws and that’s what a leader does. The economy team reflects the president, so the job productivity was satisfied. I feel the position I hold and the people that work under me represent me. As a leader I lead by example because I know what needs to get done and how it needs to get done. Also people job productivity relates to the type of leader you are, I am a people orientated person, so I can relate very well.
