New Technology

So they say in chapter 10 face to face communication was prevalent until the 1950's and the 1960's. Is that saying one day a supervisors decide just to sit down with an employee and talk about an issue, that's weird how life works. Further more into the technology, the significantly affects works process, employees productivity and work life , and the character of interpersonal and power relationship. There are two broad categories of communication technology that are available to organizations: computer assisted communication and computer assisted decision aiding. The first one is the various methods of image transmission and the second one is on line management information system. To sum it up , both just enhance communication within the organizations and speed things up.( chapter 10,page 328-329)

  1. I would like to elaborate and give examples of the two communication technology categories that you mentioned above:

    1) Computer-assisted communication technologies include fax, teleconferencing, email, voice mail, instant chat, internet, Personal Digital Assistants, electronic image transmission, etc.

    2) Computer-assisted decision-aiding technologies include management information systems, human resources information systems, group decision support systems, information retrieval and reporting database systems, experts systems, etc.

Employees in both the private sector and the government sector widely use these technologies on a daily basis.
